The Coquitlam Amateur Radio Club, more formally regarded as the Coquitlam Amateur Radio Emergency Service Society (C.A.R.E.S.S) is a non-profit organization that was created to promote the exciting hobby of Amateur / Ham radio and emergency communications. Over the last 16 years our society has become an integral part of the local and provincial emergency preparedness plans by providing communications expertise and experienced radio operators free of charge in the event of a large disaster.

Our club is situated on the centrally located grounds of Riverview Hospital, in the city of Coquitlam. In this unique setting we maintain a large dedicated clubhouse with an impressive array of antennas and towers which in an instant can provide local and worldwide communications on the amateur radio frequencies. We have teaching classrooms, radio rooms, and complete radio service facilities for teaching and training new or prospective hams. To accommodate prospective hams, we also have two Industry Canada accredited volunteer examiners within our membership for those who are seeking an amateur radio license.
